Type 1, Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms, Causes, Herbs, Prevention and Treatments

Diabetes is a disease caused when the body doesn't make enough insulin or can't use the insulin it makes. As a result, glucose builds up in the bloodstream. If left untreated, diabetes can lead to blindness, kidney disease, nerve disease, heart disease, and stroke.

According to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), 15.7 million Americans—nearly 6% of the population—have diabetes.
There are two major types of diabetes mellitus:

Type 1— known as insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM). It is also known as juvenile diabetes and Childhood-onset diabetes. Type I diabetes is due to a deficiency or failure of the pancreas to secrete insulin. It occurs when the pancreas fails to produce adequate insulin, the hormone used by the body to make blood sugar (glucose) available to cells.
Symptoms of Type I Diabetes

    Excessive urination
    Blurred vision
    Fatigue
    Weight loss
    Constant thirst and hunger
    Recurrent skin infections
High levels of glucose in the blood and urine
Elevated blood-sugar levels and sugar in the urine.
Individuals with type 1 diabetes must take insulin throughout their lives to manage their condition.

Type 2—The most common form of diabetes (accounting for 90% of all cases). It is also known as adult-onset diabetes, non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) or maturity-onset diabetes. Type II diabetes runs in families. Your risk of having type II diabetes goes markedly high if you have excess weight, leads a sedentary lifestyle and have a family history of Type II diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a progressive disease that can cause significant, severe complications such as heart disease, kidney disease, blindness and loss of limbs through amputation.
Symptoms of Type II diabetes

    Frequent urination
    Blurred vision
    Increased hunger
    Increased thirst
    Poor wound healing
    Prolonged and unexplained fatigue
Numbness or burning sensations in the legs or feet
    Gynecological fungal infections in women
    Sexual impotence in men.

I thought so much, finally I got your website and sent an email and reply came from Ayurvedic Cure Doctor whom I will remember for my life .

He suggested me taking Diabeta twice daily. All worries stopped slowly. My initial  blood glucose was 350. I was taking metformin thrice daily for about 15 days.  Glucose was at 200 - 240. I had blurred vision for few days. Got eye check up . All was normal except for light allergy. Then I started taking diabeta from august and within a week my glucose was at 90 - 120  always from that day it has always been below 120. I walk an hour daily almost everyday. So thats my story.

Gestational diabetes

Gestational diabetes is any type of diabetes that appears during pregnancy. Towards the end of a pregnancy (usually the third trimester), a woman may have higher than normal levels of glucose in her bloodstream. In 95 percent of the cases, the diabetes disappears after childbirth. For about 5% of the women, the diabetes remains after childbirth. Once a woman has had gestational diabetes, she's at risk for developing another form of diabetes (usually type II) later in life.
Herbal Remedies for Diabetes:

Diabeta: Diabeta is a combination of effective anti-diabetics fortified with potent immunomodulators, antihyperlipidemics, anti-stress and hepatoprotectives of total plant origin. The formulation of Diabeta is based on ancient ayurvedic references, further corroborated through modern research and clinical trials at major medical institutes. More..

Bitter Melon (Karela, Momordica charantia): The blood sugar lowering action of the fresh juice or extract of the unripe fruit has been clearly established in both experimental and clinical studies. Bitter melon is composed of several compounds with confirmed anti-diabetic properties. Charantin, extracted by alcohol, is a hypoglycaemic agent composed of mixed steroids that is more potent than the drug tolbutamide which is often used in the treatment of diabetes. Momordica also contains an insulin-like polypeptide, polypeptide-P, which lowers blood sugar levels when injected subcutaneously into type 1 diabetic patients. The oral administration of 50-60 ml of the juice has shown good results in clinical trials. More..

Shudh Shilajit (Asphaltum): Shilajit has long been used for the prevention and treatment of diabeties in Ayervedic medicine. Shilajit counteracts Diabetes and regulates the blood sugar level. More..

Gymnema Sylvestre (Gurmar): Gymnema assists the pancreas in the production of insulin in Type 2 diabetes. Gymnema also improves the ability of insulin to lower blood sugar in both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. This herb can be an excellent substitute for oral blood sugar-lowering drugs in Type 2 diabetes. Some people take 500 mg per day of gymnema extract.

Fenugreek seeds (Trigonella foenum graecum): In two small studies of individuals with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes, fenugreek seed powder lowered blood glucose and improved levels of blood cholesterol and trigylcerides, among other beneficial effects. The active ingredient responsible for the antidiabetic properties of fenugreek is in the defatted portion of the seed that contains the alkaloid trogonelline, nicotinic acid and coumarin.

Onion and Garlic (Allium cepa and Allium sativum): Onion and garlic have significant blood sugar lowering action. The principal active ingredients are believed to be allyl propyl disulphide (APDS) and diallyl disulphide oxide (allicin), although other constitutents such as flavonoids may play a role as well. Onion extract was found to reduce blood sugar levels during oral and intravenous glucose tolerance. The effect improved as the dosage was increased; however, beneficial effects were observed even for low levels that used in the diet (eg., 25 to 200 grams). The effects were similar in both raw and boiled onion extracts.
